Longboard Revival

Come relive history with the 8th Annual Longboard Revival Series reenacted and sponsored by the Plumas Ski Club, established in 1957 by the descendants of the 1867 Alturas Snow Club, and the Gold Mountain Foundation

Revival races

Come relive the spirit of the Lost Sierra, where gold miners and pioneers first began longboarding and downhill racing in the western hemisphere, at the eighth annual historic longboard revival races, at the newly renovated ski Gold Mountain located in Johnsville, CA, Plumas County, within the plumas Eureka State Park.

Descendants of the 1869 alturas Snowshoe club, the Plumas ski club established in 1951, and the Gold Mountain7 Foundation summons all able-bodied riders to don a pair of regulation longboards, 9 foot minimum length, and race to the finish line. Those faint of heart, not wanting to race are invited to be spectators for the day and encouraged to wear historic attire.

Snowshoers Rules

No cheatin or spittin wear historic attire, circa 1870's leather boots required for all racers authentic handmade Dope only. Dope is king. no modern waxes or fluorocarbons allowed dope available with registration from the dopemaster. regulation longboards, 9 foot minimum length, available With registration. racers must be of spittin age - 18 years or older trustworthy flask passin at the discretion of spectators and Participants ....... but not encouraged by the sponsors.

Entry Fees: $25.00 includes use of Ski Club's longboards & dope wax. $15.00 includes use of ski club's Dope wax only.
