Services

A political subdivision of Plumas County, the Gold Mountain Community Services District provides water, sewer and fire protection services to the Gold Mountain Community. Community water wells provide crystal clear, great tasting water to each residence. The District provides sewer service from each lot. Each resident installs an interceptor tank and pump which the District maintains. All you do is pay your monthly bill.

Both water and sewer services are provided to the lot, costing $24.84 per month for a vacant lot and increasing to $75.00 per month for normal service when your home is completed. The hook-up fee for water is $1,000 and sewer is $2,000. An interceptor tank is estimated to cost between $3,200 and $3,700.

Structural fire protection is provided by the District which currently contracts with the City of Portola for service. Portola`s fire department is one of the highest-ranked in the County. The community has been designed to create natural blocks to fire spreading. The community works closely with the U. S. Forest Service and the California Department of Forestry to implement fire control programs on a regional basis.

Homeowners

The Gold Mountain Homeowners Association provides residents with beautiful maintained roads, common open spaces and private entry gates. The dues for these services are $63.49 per month. Of this amount, approximately $20.00 goes into a reserve fund for long-term road maintenance. The remainder goes for insurance, office supplies and management of the GMHA, and snow removal. No increases to the monthly dues are expected, unless the Homeowners vote for a special assessment or a future increase under the rules of the organization
